devCU Screams Pure Nginx

devCU Screams Pure Nginx and thats the truth. I have been a server administrator for over 10 years, specializing in security and optimization for over 6. To me a server is like a my car, it needs to run efficiently, get the best gas mileage, and have the safety features like airbags and ABS brakes. When I discovered Nginx back a few years ago I didnt realize I was in for the ride of my life. Since then I havent looked back. Yes I still work on Apache servers because theres a need but I can honestly say the past 18 months or so I havent even thought of Apache except to laugh at how inferior it is to Nginx. Yes I’ve read all the articles by the Apache hanger ons and how its better and all that crap. Seriously those people call themselves server administrators and deny seeing the truth? Apache isnt in the same stratosphere as Nginx, Im talking a pure Nginx server not some backend proxy to Apache which is still a bloat mobile no matter how you slice it. Yes devCU Screams Pure Nginx

I can write hundreds of reason why its better. I can post till the cows come home. Essentially its extremely flexible, so easily configured, holds its own without a hundred plugins and mods, can be secured so easily with simple directives, optimization is terribly easy, speed  comes shipped by default and can be tuned like a Stradivarius violin. Nginx is the epitome of sweet to a server administrator. You dont have the dependency problems with some software for Apache. You can make anything, any application, any software work with Nginx cause it is highly customizable. Not to mention its lightweight, its a cache lovers dream, and simply put is best webserver available.

So that being said, I finally found the time to backup the 12 domains and all the databases and files on this server and format the disk, install Centos 6.2 and my love… Nginx. I have been posting all the different steps that I have gone through to get the various sites online. Some just PHP, a couple ruby/rails sites, and a few other things I need to do. Along the way I will post all the enhanced security one can use to secure their web domains. Plus all the optimizations for running super fast and efficient sites. The bloat is gone all I need is the command line and a cup of Java to cuddle up alongside my little friend…Nginx.

devCU Screams Pure Nginx and I can hear it loud and clear!

7800 connections at one point today…Server load? 0.02

And we arent even fully active yet, 65% at best.
